Europe`s largest antiques fair takes place in Nottinghamshire, the home of everyone`s favourite outlaw Robin Hood.
Nottinghamshire is a fitting location for such a phenomenal antiques event, being a county steeped in history. Here you'll find ancient underground caves, Ice Age drawings at Creswell Craggs and in Nottingham itself the site where the English Civil War began when King Charles I raised his standard in 1642. The Newark International Antiques & Collectors Fair takes place at the Newark and Nottinghamshire Showground in Winthorpe, just 5 minutes from the historic market own of Newark-on-Trent. Why not combine your visit to the fair with a stay in the region for a break packed full of activity?
You could further your interest in all things from days gone by with a trip to the award winning attraction Galleries of Justice. You could visit Southwell and see the splendour of its Minster.
Or why not make your trip a combination of contemporary and classic and indulge in further retail therapy in Nottingham city centre? Fitting for a city that was once home to style icon Paul Smith, you'll find fabulous clothes shops, and many stylish bars and restaurants to round off your trip perfectly.
