The appeal of antique and vintage pieces as the ideal style choice was further confirmed this autumn, when the Ardingly International Antiques & Collectors Fair featured in the November issue of Vogue.
The magazine, the authoritative voice on British fashion, selected the largest antiques and collectors event in the south of England as the backdrop for a fashion shoot with British supermodel Cara Delevigne.
The article accompanying the fashion piece referred to the thrill of the hunt and the excitement at making an exquisite discovery – an item from a by-gone era, something you just cannot go home without.
“The love for preloved goods is certainly maintaining its popularity”, said Emma Last, Communications Manager for the organisers of the Ardingly event, International Antiques & Collectors Fairs Ltd (IACF). “Antique and vintage goods and the sourcing of them continues to make headlines – whether it be through the latest television programme on the subject – or the location selection for a fashion shoot!
“We know the appeal these unique and distinctive wares can hold, for the individual, for the home and just for pure inspiration. And it’s phenomenal to see magazines such as Vogue, conveying that message to their audience. We hope to welcome any new fashion conscious, vintage enthusiasts to our Ardingly fair – and of course to any of our events around the UK. They represent the perfect hunting grounds for antique treasures and we know they won’t be disappointed with what they find”.
