Newark Community First Aid have long been a valued feature of the Newark International Antiques & Collectors Fair. A friendly and caring presence which is reassuring to everyone (staff, stallholders and public) who attend the fair. So the organisers of Newark International Antiques Fair were especially happy, and indeed honoured, that they should choose their event as the site to unveil their brand new £30,000 ambulance unit.
The funds for the ambulance where generated by charitable donations from the public, organisers of local events and funding organisations, with representatives of some of the organisations that contributed to the fundraising being invited to the fair last Friday to thank them.
“Without this support we would be unable to develop the service we provide for the community,” said the Chairman of the charity's trustees - Peter Smith.
Iacf are extremely happy to have played a part in helping to raise the funds for the new unit. It's wonderful that the whole community will benefit from the facility, enabling the ambulance team to provide the highest standard of care to anyone in need at one of the 400 local events covered by Newark Community First Aid every year.
The ambulance will be onsite at the next Newark International Antiques & Collectors Fair will be held on Thurs 12th - Fri 13th Oct. www.iacf.co.uk/newark
