Lockdown has been a challenging time for us all, so iacf were delighted to hear that items sourced from our markets have helped lift people's spirits throughout last year and this year. We spoke with Jenny Derrett, a frequent iacf antiques market attendee, who expressed how much her favourite antique items from Shepton Mallet antiques market has helped her throughout this lockdown!
"I am surrounded by my favourite antiques from Shepton Mallet, things and memories to treasure in challenging times".
"I've really missed the markets, I've been a regular Friday market goer for ten years and enjoy seeing the many friendly and helpful dealers each time.
"I particuarly enjoy the summer markets, when sellers from all around to enjoy the carnival atmosphere and the opportunity to buy unique and special pieces for home decoration!
"Some of my favourite paintings that can be enjoyed anywhere (in the home) were under £20..."
"I have, like everyone else, had much more time to enjoy special items, so I'm very pleased I seldom come home empty handed!
"During lockdown, my home and things of beauty, ie. my antique items founded at iacf antiques markets, have become ever more appreciated.
"Wishing all the very best to the organisers, stallholders, specialists and buyers who make it possible to recycle the jems of the past making our homes and living spaces more personal and individual."
