The British Broadcasting Corporation, The Beeb, Auntie – whatever your chosen name is for the nation’s favourite broadcasting company – they were in attendance again at Newark International Antiques & Collectors Fair on May 31st – June 1st.
BBC Radio 4 Producer Sheila Cook brought presenter and writer Travis Elborough and a Cameraman – I know, a cameraman for Radio! “These days everything has to be filmed for the internet and social media; it’s all about content,” explained Sheila.
The program they were making at Newark will be part of a series airing in early August (exact date yet to be confirmed) and will cover the whole mad panoply of what the world regards as ‘Antique’. Of course, they couldn’t make a program on the world of Antiques without making a pilgrimage to the world-famous Newark Antiques Fair.
Travis spoke to LAPADA member – and long-time stallholder at many iacf fairs – Frank Wilson. You may have even been approached yourself, if you were at Newark last week, for your input into the program, so as soon as we find out when the program featuring Newark Antiques Fair is on, we’ll let you know. Stay tuned!
The next iacf Fair is Bingley Antiques & Collectors Fair at Staffordshire County Showground on Fri 15th, Sat 16th & Sun 17th June.
The next Newark International Antiques & Collectors Fair is on Thurs 2nd & Fri 3rd August.
