The Shepton Mallet Antiques & Collectors Fair, at its wonderful location at the Bath & West showground, has recently had a marked increase in attendence for its March Fair.

This is one antiques fair you can’t afford to miss, with fantastic exhibits both inside and out! Four halls, and numerous outside pitches, give the antiques hunter enormous variety. The choice of antiques, and the quality of stock and expertise on site is mind-boggling, and makes for a truly unique 3 day experience.

The fair was particuarly good for the stall-holders who stayed for the full 3 days, as Rachel Everett, Operations Director at IACF explains:

“Lots of dealers took time out to pop into the office during the weekend to report they were having very good fairs.  It’s not just one type of stock that seems to be selling well either, except to say that quality buyers are coming to the fair looking to invest in quality antiques!  The buyers attendance was up by 15% on last year, which in very encouraging in what seem to be uncertain times for other industries.  Antiques have long been considered ‘good investments’ as well as something to cherish and enjoy.”

Martin Ivill, a specialist in prints and framed pictures, and long time regular at the Shepton Fair, was one of the many dealers who enjoyed the weekend:

“The last fair at Shepton was good for us, we have been exhibiting at Shepton for 20 years and although we have tried other IACF venues this is the only one we currently support.” he enthused.

Another happy dealer was Jane Burgett, specialist in Danish silver jewellery, who said: “I really enjoyed the March Fair at Shepton, it’s always one of my favourite fairs, and it was a really fruitful weekend for me too!”

But it wasn’t just the stallholders enjoying the fair. As one first-time visitor explains: “This was my first visit to the Shepton Mallet Fair, and the antiques available were of an excellent standard. The dealers were all extremely friendly, and certainly knew their stuff! I will definately be coming again!”.

If you haven’t experienced the Shepton Mallet Antiques & Collectors Fair, then the next one will be held on 5th – 7th May. You can contact the IACF team on: 01636 702326, or visit www.iacf.co.uk/stallholders for more information.
