iacf were lucky enough to meet Gail from Gail Race Interiors, an interior design consultancy in West Sussex and London. Gail retains over 20 years experience in the industry and found herself falling in love with the interior design inspiration offered at iacf Ardingly Antiques Fair.
Gail holds a background in the creative arts and a professional career in high-end home ware development, Gail has many clients who are “forever grateful” for Gail’s influence. iacf were exctatic when Gail said she had time to come and visit Ardingly Antiques Fair for some design inspiration.
Walking around the fair, Gail provided insightful feedback on different items offered at the fair, ranging from “wooden thatched chairs that would work well in the kitchen” to antique pots and antique pottery boards.
We asked Gail what attracts her to antique fairs, amongst the thousands of ideas interior designers can receive from the fairs, Gail expressed how often clients love to get involved. Gail would say “OK, these are the type of things you could find at IACF antique fair – why don’t you go and take a look?” allowing clients to get a feel for the items available, allowing more ideas to contribute to the final design!
Ardingly Antiques fair provided an impressive amount of decor inspiration for Gail, we started talking about what inspired Gail to become an interior designer, she emphasised “a lot of people don’t know how to visualise their space, so you might go into a space and think this is lovely… but you’re unsure why! If you start to think, well actually it’s because you’ve got a huge amount of natural light, clear sight lines and a lot of greenery, allowing people to fall in love with their homes again.”
Gail spotted these beautiful lamps, which were made exclusively for the Ardingly Antiques fair, “I could find a home for those I’m sure!” and used the lamps as a great photo opportunity. Gail described many items as ‘a stylists’ dream’ and said she is returning to iacf Antique Fairs with her husband!
Our next iacf Antique Fair is the fast and successful Runway Monday, 28th September and after that is Peterborough Festival of Antiques, Friday 2nd October and Saturday 3rd October. In line with Government Covid-19 Safety Guidelines, you can browse thousands of antiques with ease.
