Antiques Show & Tell from Ardingly Antiques Fair

Michael Attree Atters is a British humorist and performer, who takes a particular interest in all things antique. Atters regularly visits Ardingly Antiques Fair at the South of England Showground to shop antiques, vintage and collectors items to add to this ever-growing antiques collection.

Atters introduces the start of the items he has found at Ardingly Antiques Fair with a fun item: a vintage kaleidoscope toy. Kaleidoscopes have been used by thousands of children across the UK for many many years, but more recently these items were made of plastic, whereas if you find a true vintage version, they will be made of tin!

The second item of his collection is something a bit more serious for the avid antiques collector, a £12 Victorian quizzing lens. Atters expresses how it’s great to buy these things to look the part, however it’s important to buy lenses that actually work! You can do this by looking through them before you buy! These are perfect for any antique silver collector who wishes to look into their silver hallmarks in more detail!

Thirdly, Atters shows us his percussion pistol that he discovered at Ardingly Antiques Fair. A percussion pistol is a weapon that is fired via the striking (or percussing) of an external primer which sends a flash into the breech that ignites the main powder charge. On most percussion firearms, the primer is a percussion cap.

The fourth item Atters collected from Ardingly is a pewter spoon. Atters expresses how he loves the history that comes with these items, such as this 17th century pewter spoon. Atters says how he doesn’t often see these pewter spoon with knots on the top, making this a unique find, which is what Ardingly Antiques Fair is all about.

Fifthly, Atters shows us a piece of bronze, one of 20, which is a part of anatomy from a female’s private parts. This is an exceptional item to help celebrate the beauty of women and something to add to your erotic art collection. Atters has only spent £25 on these items!

Can you believe that you can get all of these incredible items to add to your antiques collection for only £25? At Ardingly Antiques Fair, this is more than achievable. If you are a collector like Atters, who is always looking for his next pre-loved item, then make sure to join him and thousands others at Ardingly Antiques Fair – the Largest Antiques Fair in the South of England.
