Cost-efficient Area of Collecting

Are you new to antiques collecting and unsure how to begin your collection – or what to collect in the first place? David Harper, BBC Antiques Expert and artist, introduces us to a very easy, simple, enjoyable, cost-efficient area of collecting – and that is OLD BOTTLES! To David, and many other collectors, old bottles are extremely fascinating.

David’s fascination for antique bottles began when David was a young boy. One of the most exciting things about collecting antiques is digging around iacf antiques fairs for pieces of treasure! David expresses how finding a full bottle from the 19th century is super impressive, as they are most likely to be broken! At iacf antiques fairs, we have thousands of antique bottles for you to choose from that have been carefully sorted for hundreds and hundreds of years.

At Peterborough Antiques Fair, the Festival of Antiques, you can pick up antique glass bottles for a few pounds and then when you go home, you can research the bottle that you have found to find a date – and even a manufacturer name! David further expresses how antique glass bottles are an easy place to start collecting. If you are looking to start collecting something, but you have no idea what, then antique glass bottles could help direct you! They also make for great decor in the home.

Old glass bottles… David just cannot get enough of them! Find more cost-efficient area of collecting at iacf antiques fairs.
