Edwardian Card Table in the style of Georgian Period

David spotted this unique Edwardian card table and it took him back to the style of Georgian furniture, which was David’s first love! David would buy Georgian furniture, lay under them with a torch and examine how they were put together!

This Edwardian fold over card table fits in with the Georgian style, it’s Edwardian 1901-1910, and it’s a copy of a Georgian table that looks like it’s made in the Georgian period. (Fun fact, George III is David Harper’s favourite king!)

This is a reproduction, which shouldn’t be a dirty word as reproductions have been going ahead for thousands of years, the Romans used to reproduce pieces from the Greek culture! So, a reproduction piece is nothing new. This is a genuine antique, reproduction of an earlier antique, for only £110.

It’s incredibly elegant as you can see the card top, made from mahogany, a very expensive wood which was introduced to British cabinet making in 1730. You can find thousands more antique furniture from a range of periods at Newark Antiques Fair, the largest antiques fair in Europe in 2022.
